Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn is planing to do the first boxing match after the virus crises in the back garden of is head office quarters facilities in United Kingdom.
After the recent MMA event conducted in close doors maybe now it is time for boxing to get back on track. In recent declarations to BBC sports the promoter said: “I want to be the first but I want to get it right. I don’t want to be the first with a bad product.”
“We would need the WBC, say, to be comfortable with Board of Control officials”
The British Boxing Board of Control has not yet make an official statement on this matter but things could change a long the way. Probably, the fights will be allowed but not with titles on the line. In recent declarations to Sky Sports Boxing, the promoter talked about this restrictions, “We are in discussions with the board at the moment. All of this has been done in dialogue with them. Obviously we want to start with a world title contest. We would need the WBC, say, to be comfortable with Board of Control officials, some of whom are WBC officials anyway. The challenge with all of this is keeping the numbers down”.
