The fight Britain was waiting for. Promoter Eddie Hearn explains Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury financial agreement.
The clash between Anthony Joshua, current IBF, WBO, WBA and IBO heavyweigh chamipon, and the Gipsy King Tyson Fury, current WBC Heavyweight is set to happen in 2021.
“We have a financial deal in place between the two of them for two fights in 2021. It doesn’t get any bigger. It’s two British world heavyweight champions fighting for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world”, commented MatchRoom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn.
But before the event happen, AJ will need to face mandatory challenger bulgarians Kubrat Pulev and Tyson Fury will need to do the third rematch for the WBC belt against the american Deontay Wilder.
“Everyone wants it to happen. For me, this will be the biggest sporting event in this country with these fighters – four belts on the line, two Britons fighting for the world title, both champions. This is just mega. I think it’ll be the biggest sporting event in this country since England won the World Cup in 1966.”, Fury promoter Frank Warren, reveal to BBC Radio 5 Live.
